Mr. Booth received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1970 from the University of South Carolina and his Juris Doctor degree in 1975 from the University of South Carolina School of Law where he was a member of the Moot Court Board; he was a Law Clerk for South Carolina Supreme Court Justice William Rhodes, 1975-1976. He is a member of the Richland County, Lexington County and American Bar Associations. He is a title insurance agent for Lawyers Title Insurance Corporation and First American Title Insurance Company. He is active in the South Carolina Bar having served as chairperson of the Solo and Small Firm Section and as chairperson of the Law Office Technology Committee. He served on the special Bar Committee that recommended using the Casemaker legal research program now available to all members of the Bar. He was appointed by Gov. Sanford in 2005 to serve on the newly established e-Government Oversight Committee and reappointed in 2007.

He has spoken to professional groups on real estate title and litigation issues and on IRC Section 1031 exchanges. Mr. Booth also served as planner and moderator for several seminars presented at the annual South Carolina Bar Convention. He was the planner and a presenter at the SC Bar CLE seminar on August 24, 2007- Property Tax Reform Act of 2006: Impact on Tax Pro-rations at Closing, and the SC Bar CLE seminar on August 8, 2008 - Boot Camp for Computer-Assisted Visual Trial Presentations.
